Known for her roles in Charlie's Angels, The Burning Bed, and much more, Farrah Fawcett died June 25, 2009, after a courageous and very public three-year battle with cancer.
Fawcett came a long way from her Corpus Christi, Texas roots. She started out acting in commercials (she was best-known as the Wella Balsam girl). From there, her popularity soared after she was named to the cast of Charlie's Angels and the poster of her in a red bathing suit hit newsstands. The poster sold a record number of copies—over 12 million.
Farrah Fawcett: A Life in Photos
Farah Fawcett was known for her signature bouncy blonde hairstyle with curvy, face-framing bangs. In this publicity image from January 1975 she's pictured outside in an outfit typical of the times—a cute peasant blouse, dainty floral necklace, and blue jeans.
"Charlie's Angels"
Before there was "The Rachel," there was "The Farrah." Fawcett's winged hair became a phenomenon that inspired copycats throughout the 1970s and '80s. Fawcett was famous for her role as Jill Munroe in the TV series Charlie's Angels. But her tenure with the show lasted only a year.
Worldwide Celebrity
Farrah Fawcett went on to star in numerous television shows and movies.

The Famous 'Playboy' Shoot
Farrah Fawcett refused to pose nude throughout the 1970s and 1980s, so she caused a major stir when she appeared in the buff in the December 1995 issue of Playboy. The issue went on to become a bestseller of the 1990s, with more than four million copies sold worldwide.
When she was 50, Fawcett posed for the July 1997 Playboy. It also became a bestseller.
Lifelong Glamour
Fawcett continued to rock versions of her signature hairstyle well into the '00s. Here she is in a chic curly ponytail and red lipstick at an event in 2004.
Cancer Diagnosis
On October 4, 2006, it was reported that Farrah Fawcett was suffering from anal cancer and was undergoing treatment, including chemotherapy and surgery.
Cancer Returns
The cancer reportedly went into remission, but on May 17, 2007, it was reported to be back. Apparently, it had metastasized to her liver.
Her Legacy Lives On
All these years later, Farrah Fawcett continues to be an icon and a symbol of 1970s, all-American glamour.
