Who doesn’t want #glassskingoals in 2020? The trend has taken on a life of its own with beauty brands scrambling to play catch-up, but Peach & Lily has been ahead of the curve when it comes to the fresh-out-the-shower look that’s the core element of Korean beauty. Peach & Lily launched their iconic Glass Skin Refining Serum ($39) in 2018 before the start of the movement in the U.S. Fast forward two years later and they’ve introduced a follow-up product that we can say from firsthand experience is a thirst trap in a bottle—Peach & Lily’s Veil Mist ($29).

Alicia Yoon, founder of Peach & Lily says she pairs the new mist religiously with her best-selling serum. “While the Glass Skin serum delivers all the essential ‘food groups’ needed for my skin to be at its best, the Glass Skin Mist makes sure that no matter what the day throws my way, I have glass skin on tap,” says the celebrity esthetician.

Again, this isn’t just any mist. The sustainable, vegan, gluten-free, and cruelty-free spritz is formulated with all types of good-for-you-ingredients. Peach extract (hello, Peach & Lily) which contains essential fatty acids to boost radiance and resilience, reishi mushroom which is responsible for helping rid inflammation and redness, lotus and licorice which both have brightening powers are just some of the superstar ingredients.

So how do you use it, you say? If you’re anything like me, I mist for no particular reason at all. I mist when I’m stressed, I mist when I need a pick-me-up, I mist when I’m bored, and yes, I mist before Zoom calls. Peach & Lily’s Veil Mist just instantly feels good on contact, and over this last year, I’ve been less worried about “the trend” than I am about how I feel. But, if glass skin is what you seek, then Yoon shared with Byrdie her guide to misting like a pro.

Glass Skin Veil Mist can be used in 3 ways:

  1. Spritz liberally through the day on bare skin for glass skin goals– inside and out: “On days I go without makeup, which is most days this year, I spritz liberally through the day onto bare skin to keep my skin replenished, hydrated and glassy. I love misting right before Zoom calls because I look instantly glassy and revived—and it takes only a second to ‘get-ready,’” she explains.
  2. Before applying makeup in between makeup layers for bounce and glow: “On days I'm wearing makeup, I mist before I apply a CC Cream because it makes everything have this bouncy finish and a backlit glow and makes sure there's never any flaking,” she says.
  3. Mist over makeup to revive makeup and impart a glassy, highlight effect: “After I've applied the rest of my makeup (brows, lashes, eyeliner, blush, lip gloss), I spritz over everything for this glassy, highlighter effect. It helps my makeup set but also gives me this glassy glow without the shimmer or glitter,” she adds.

Well, there you go! I can honestly say that Peach & Lily’s Veil Mist has been sitting front and center on my vanity since it came into my life just a very short while ago, and I don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon. Yoon calls this product her “skin savior” throughout this challenging year and has kept her skin “smooth-sailing"—something we could all use more of as we ride out the rest of 2020.
