With certainty, one of the most beautiful perks of being mandated to stay indoors is having all the extra time to cultivate our self-care regimes.
In fact, many people have found themselves editing their skincare routines, shopping for new brands, and experimenting with new and innovative products to achieve their overall beauty goals. Even some of your favorite stars have joined the growing list of Americans looking to accomplish radiant skin and flawless glam at home.
If you're eager to know what’s on the vanities and beauty counters of some of the most beloved A-list celebrities, entertainers, and social influencers—look no further. Byrdie scoured the web, plus chatted with some of your favorites (and their glam squads) to see what products are on the frontline of their vanities just in time for Autumn.
"[Although] I LOVE the whole Flawless by Gabrielle Union collection, one of my faves is the Restoring Exotic Oil Treatment. It stays in my purse—even if I'm not going anywhere,” Union tells Brydie exclusively. "My scalp loves it, primarily due to the tingling sensation I feel from the peppermint oil, the main ingredient."
“My [favorite] mascara has always been the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. The one in the pink and green bottle...that's just where I always land. It's a staple,” Richie enthusiastically tells Byrdie.
"My favorite product in the Honest Beauty line for fall is the Daily Calm Lightweight Moisturizer, which keeps my skin moisturized for 24 hours while helping to strengthen the skin barrier and reduce redness," Alba shares with us. "I use it every day after my serum and before makeup. For me, it was important to create products that not only calm irritated skin but also have nourishing, skin-transforming benefits."
Steph Shep reveals to Byrdie all about the Olly supplements she swears by: "I’m tied between Miss Mellow and Beat the Bloat. I’m literally always like 'I'm bloated, I’m bloated,' so I probably take that one the most. [And] there’s Miss Mellow because I’m literally a full lunatic before my period. It's so bad. I know it's coming. Something inside of me changes."
She continues, "For everyone’s sake it’s probably best that I continue to take Miss Mellow."
Friends and fellow Olly ambassadors Jen Atkin, Nicole Richie, and Olivia Culpo are also fans of these supplements from Olly’s Future is Female line up.
"I love Catrice Cosmetics Hydro BB Cream because it evens [out] my skin tone and provides coverage while it hydrates, thanks to the addition of shea butter! It’s perfect for me as a new mom, who needs easy, quick, coverage," Lawrence explains to Byrdie exclusively.
Ming Lee has teamed up with her mom, Kimora Lee Simmon, to launch the multigenerational Baby Phat Beauty. "What makes the [Opulence Shimmer Dreams Set] so special is that it represents [my] unique personality. The products include ingredients like essential oils and fragrance notes of peach, midnight orchid, and caramel, based on my own self-care and beauty rituals," Ming Lee shares with us.
"I am a huge fan of Each & Every. I love and use their aluminum-free deodorant," Bailon-Houghton tells us exclusively. "I've worked with them twice before Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I love Each & Every because their products are made with high-quality clean ingredients and free of aluminum, parabens, and other nasties."
She even took her love for Each & Every to Instagram sharing more about her wellness journey.
"When I first smelled this on someone on set I had never met before, I just shamelessly asked her throughout the day to sniff her arm. Like an insatiable dog. I instantly ordered it, it’s such an original, sexy scent," Carice van Houten explains to Byrdie exclusively.
Author Leandra Medine also shared why the 11 11 fragrance oil is on her fall beauty counter. “I love the 11 11 fragrance oil because I prefer a roll on to a spray—the scent stays with you longer, the size of the dispenser is compact enough that I can take it with me everywhere I go and the actual scent is the perfect combination of clean, masculine and feminine."
"Dr. 14 Vital Care Shampoo has been the perfect addition to my entire wellness routine," Port captioned an Instagram post. "I pretend like I am at the salon getting a hair massage while I shampoo with it during my nightly wind-down routine. It has been scientifically validated to improve scalp [and] hair health instantly and overtime for long-lasting, beautiful hair. It is also a pH-balanced treatment that is clinically proven AND prevents hair loss."
Jamie Chung also shared her love of the hair improvement shampoo in an Instagram post.
Scroll through Tracee Ellis Ross’s Instagram timeline, and you'll discover that she loves a bold lip. The "Blackish" actress has a thing for a hot red pout using of MAC’s Ruby Woo Retro Matte Lipstick and Cherry Lip Pencil.
"[My] favorite lipstick of all time! I love a bold color, I love a matte lip," she revealed while showing off her beauty routine in a Vogue video. "With Ruby Woo, for some reason, I like to do the lipstick first, then the liner."
Ever wonder how Doja Cat achieves her signature ultra-radiant look? The singer uses Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops to highlight her nose, cheeks, chin, and cupids bow which she shared with Vogue. We are convinced that the E-girl found the perfect balance between Asian makeup secrets and "Tumblr Girl" aesthetics to leave us all mesmerized.
Addison Rae revealed to Vogue that she uses Item Beauty Brow Chow to create faux freckles after her natural ones are concealed by foundation. "I go back in with my eyebrow pencil and re-make these freckles," she shared. "Once they're all evenly [on my face], I take my beauty blender and blend."
The actress recently shared in her Instagram Stories that she's using Mutha Body Oil—a proprietary blend of rosehip, jojoba, and sweet almond oils—to help reduce the look of stretch marks. "Just stuff that works," the soon-to-be-mother captioned the picture, along with the hashtag: #notanad.
