Here’s the thing about Camila Mendes—from her glistening look at the 2022 Met Gala to her dripping-in-jewels gown at the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscars Party, the Riverdale star always brings unmatched style to the red carpet. Last night, Mendes carried on the tradition in a chic earthy lime green set at the premier of her buzzy new Netflix film, Do Revenge.

The Versace ensemble included a boned corset top, a ruched skirt, and matching lime green opera gloves. But, our favorite part of the look? Her soft-grunge '90s makeup look, courtesy of celebrity makeup artist, Jen Tioseco, who used all Giorgio Armani Beauty products.

To start off Mendes’ makeup look, Tioseco relied on Armani’s classic base products, the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation ($69), and the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Concealer ($38). “The [Luminous Silk Foundation] is my go-to foundation on Cami for carpets because it photographs flawlessly and never looks too heavy on the skin," Tioseco tells Byrdie exclusively. To add an extra dew to the star's complexion, Tioseco applied the Armani Beauty Neo Nude A-Highlight ($36) in shade 11 to the high points of Mendes’ face.

With both her outfit and makeup palettes erring on the earthy side, Mendes’ look included colors that were ideal for the transitional weather. “I wanted to incorporate earth tones into the color palette heading into fall,” Tioseco says. She used the Armani Beauty Neo Nude Melting Color Balm cream blush ($38) in shade 22, a cool-toned brown shade that adds a '90s moody flush to the skin.

Tioseco continued to draw inspiration from the ‘90s, and added boldness to Mendes’ lips: “We wanted to make the look campy in theme with the movie, so we did a darker ‘90s inspired [lip].” Tioseco lined Mendes’ lips with the Armani Beauty Lip Power Longwear Satin Lipstick ($39) in shade 200, and added shade 102—a lighter nude— to the center for a full, pouty look.

As for Mendes’ eyes, Tioseco wanted to create something that would stand out from the rest of Mendes’ cool-toned look. “I wanted the eyes to appear dewy and wet,” says Tioseco. To achieve this, she applied the Armani Beauty Eye Tint Liquid Eyeshadow ($30) in shade 31, a frosty pearl color. Tioseco reveals to Byrdie that she used her fingers to apply and blend this shade to Mendes’s lid for a glistening look. A quick coat of the Eyes To Kill Classico Mascara ($29) added fullness to Mendes’ lashes and completes her eye look.

Of course, Camila Mendes killed it on the red carpet—but dewy looks are sometimes difficult to lock into place for an extended period of time. Tioseco’s secret? Working in layers. She explains, “I built the look in layers, starting off first with creams and then powders on top to lock it in.” She notes that the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Glow Setting Powder ($64) was a crucial step in keeping Mendes’ look fresh all night since it sets makeup while keeping the skin luminous and never overly matte. The results? A look that builds on a warm-weather dewy complexion while diving into fall’s moody, cool-toned shades.
